"If you've got a problem and no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire . . . The A-Team"
A tv show about a group of outcast Vietnam vets that unites to form an unusual team of crime and oppression fighters while escaping themselves from the injustice of their own government, surviving as soldiers of fortune and never giving up hope of one day clearing their names. In the '80s, "The A-Team" had every kid glued to the screen and dreaming about the coolest van of all time. Driven by B.A. Baracus it powerslided and jumped through TV-unprecedented doses of explosions and gunfire while the Team saved the world and made us pity the fools, one episode at a time. Despite the hit TV show having little in the way of plot and being mostly made up of infinite ammo shootouts and hard to explain explosions, no one ever got hurt, not even when they fell off buildings, and could usually just "walk it off" no matter how seriously injured they should have been - a true family show, by 1980s standards of course, a feeling helped by it's colorful but kind-hearted characters Colonel "Hannibal" Smith, "B.A." (Bad Attitude) Baracus, Faceman and "Howling Mad" Murdock.
Despite their riveting performances, the real star of the show was a GMC V8 van with quad tip exhaust and a custom Black and Gun Metal Grey paint job with a Red Stripe across it that ends in a rear wing, red bespoke wheels and fog lights - a lot of them. The van belonged to master mechanic B.A. Baracus and was the team's official mode of transportation. The van went through numerous accidents, gun battles, insane jumps, was stripped apart and abused in just about every imaginable way - only to be put back together by B.A. This enduring pop culture symbol is a worthy addition to our Screen Heroes collection and a tribute and toast to our childhood dreams. "I love it when a plan comes together" - Col. John "Hannibal" Smith I ain't goin' on no airplane!
